About me

To be a warrior is to learn to be genuine in every moment of your life.

Hi, I’m Kristen. Welcome! I’m like many other people who have a mix of interests, passions, and experiences that didn’t fit into one career (lifetime) box. I’ve discovered that the best way I can help people is to share my story, life lessons, and the skills I’ve picked up along the way. I believe we can all live healthy, vibrant lives.

My whole life experience has been a journey to find belonging. Being biracial (my ancestry is from the Philippines and Scadinavia), I felt in-between racial, ethnic, and cultural groups. I grew up with two adopted brothers from the Ukraine, one with severe autism. Through my life experience, I learned how to navigate clashing cultures along side the difficulties living with someone with developmental challenges. As a female athlete and martial artist, I’ve had to learn how to navigate hyper-masculine spaces and balance feminine and masculine energies within myself. All in all, I’ve learned that the feelings of belonging and safety are inside jobs. And that navigating life is about being comfortable in the “in-between“ and learning the dance of duality.

I’ve always been interested in how our genetics, environment, socialization, and intergenerational connections influence and shape our core beliefs and physical health. I’ve dove deep into my own inherited trauma and how that influenced my decision to study martial arts and become a social worker. My heightened sensitivity to the world caused me to be overwhelmed and hyper-vigilant, which led to depression and anxiety. I adopted some unhealthy coping strategies like excessive exercising and emotional armoring.

However, healing and reclaiming my intuitive gifts have been liberating, granting me the ability to see that our bodies have become sick because our culture is ill. Yet our Spirits are always guiding us if we listen carefully, telling us the truth of who we really are: worthy and unconditionally loved. I feel passionate about helping others understand how to “disarm themselves” by tuning into their own inner guidance system. By becoming aware of how our psyche, body, and spirit are always working together to help us survive — we can trust that thriving is our birthright as well.

I hope to inspire you to walk your path with authenticity. Let’s reclaim your personal power through developing a relationship with your body that honors your story. Each of us is responsible for deeply loving ourselves and caring for our health in a way where we understand how that impacts each other and the planet — in an interconnected web of life.

Our ancestors survived so we may thrive in this once-in-a-lifetime unique human body. The work you do on yourself heals the generations before and after you. I look forward to hearing your story and it would be an honor to support you along your journey!
